Why We Invested
We looked at MatchLog as a potential investment because it addressed one of the major inefficiencies in global trade, namely empty container runs. The platform offered a smart, scalable solution for reusing import containers for export purposes, thereby containing costs and reducing carbon emissions. Armed with early customers such as Maersk and MSC, MatchLog enjoyed strong validation and a clear path to scale.
Post-investment, we worked with the team to evolve the business into a tech-first, asset-light logistics operator. We streamlined their operations by outsourcing warehousing to third-party providers and focused them on the SaaS platform. We also supported global contracting efforts. At the same time, we guided their shift to a data- and AI-led paradigm that included improved container matching and increased process automation.
MatchLog today manages over 500,000 containers annually with an ARR surpassing the $3M-mark, making it the largest container reuse platform in India, yet touching upon less than 2% of the market. With global interest swelling, MatchLog is poised to redesign, smarter, and cleaner container logistics at scale.

About
MatchLog, founded in 2019, is a logistics technology company addressing the inefficiency and environmental impact of returning empty shipping containers. Their digital platform aims to revolutionize container logistics by enabling the reuse of containers and trailers. Instead of sending empty containers back to depots, MatchLog connects them with new export bookings, significantly reducing "dry runs," fuel consumption, and carbon emissions. This innovative approach optimizes fleet utilization and creates a more sustainable and cost-effective supply chain for all stakeholders, from shipping lines to cargo owners.
